Review by hotel critic
During my recent business trip to Seinäjoki, I unexpectedly stumbled upon Maatilamatkailu Ilomaeki Villa, and the experience surpassed all my expectations. Despite the brisk temperature of -30°C, the cabin's warmth and spaciousness provided a cozy haven, perfect for unwinding after a day of work. The culinary experience at the villa was a highlight. I had the pleasure of dining at their restaurant, where traditional Finnish cuisine meets modern culinary innovation. The ambiance was calm and inviting, making it an ideal setting to relish the thoughtfully prepared dishes. The well-equipped kitchen in the cabin allowed me to enjoy fresh ingredients, including local meats and vegetables, and I even took advantage of the barbecue facilities one evening, grilling while taking in the serene beauty of the surrounding fields. It's worth noting the owners were accommodating, ensuring that my stay - alongside my beloved pets - was seamless. The villa's ski storage was a thoughtful addition, hinting at an active lifestyle that resonated with my own. For those seeking tranquility away from the usual celebrations, this spot offers a peaceful retreat, particularly on New Year's Eve.
